The Ashanti Development Union (ADU) has carried through a second demonstration against the piloting of the capitation scheme by the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA).

Members of the Society of Private Medical and Dental Practitioners in the Ashanti region have declared their inability to participate in the pilot Capitation exercise under the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).

The Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana (PSOG) has observed that the current arrangement under the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) where service providers prescribe and dispense drugs is against international standards.
